Trails are everywhere. Trails appear in the wake of human movement. Trails are integral to human relationships with each other and with the world. Trails are fundamental to our view of the world and our sense of place in it. Trails enable connection and exchange, and serve as spaces for encountering and experiencing the world. Trails lie at the foundation of modern transportation networks.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trailology puts trails at the center of study. Trailology gathers existing bodies of knowledge on trails. Trailology facilitates the growth and development of a common, cross-disciplinary language in which further study can take place. Trailology becomes a lens through which other trail-like phenomena, or things related to trails, can be examined as well. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To engage in trailology is to seek ways of improving how humans move and live in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
